Professor Evie Shockley, Phi Beta Kappa Visiting Scholar and Professor of English at Rutgers University, gave a virtual public lecture on Thursday, April 15, titled, “Black Graphics: Text, Image and the Politics of ‘Colorblindness’ in Natasha Trethewey’s Poety.” Natasha Trethewey was US Poet Laureate in 2012-13 and 2013-14. The lecture was sponsored by the Gamma Chapter at the Univeristy of Denver.
The Alpha Association of Colorado and the Gamma Chapter co-sponsored a poetry reading on Friday, April 16, at 6:30 pm, followed by a brief question-and-answer session.
